Protege of CHAPTER CIA MEDIA HISTORIAN
Hi all! Welcome to Chapter CIA’s second blog post. I'm Gabriel, and I'm pleased to be able to give you all a short post about my Chapter’s recent chapter meeting. ;)
Last meeting, 11 November 2016, Chapter CIA had a fruitful meeting despite the rather low attendance due to chapter members on holiday. Firstly, we managed to rehearse quite a fair bit of our Chapter Presentation, which is a dramatic play from the Adventures in Odyssey, abridged by a couple of the student leaders. Furthermore, our Chapter beat our previous record of successfully doing the orotund from number 1 to 8. As a chapter, we also practiced the breathing exercise.
ven though not all of our Chapter Members were present, we still started our Chapter Presentation practice on time. The Chapter persisted in the ICC value of punctuality they learned - no matter who’s there or what we have, we should always start on time!
However, I think that it would lighten the SL’s load in facilitating our Chapter meetings if all the Chapter members were more cooperative with the facilitators, in this case, the SLs (or Student Leaders). I feel that it would be easier for the facilitators of the Chapter meeting if the Coaches could help them by making sure their own kids do not misbehave.
In the future Chapter meetings, I would want to set a good example for the younger kids by firstly, being more cooperative, secondly, helping the older kids, the SLs, or the facilitators by paying attention to what they say and lastly by obeying their instructions. I would also try to help and guide the younger kids. Another of my goals would be to challenge my fellow YSG 2 peers to cooperate more with the SLs.
I am grateful to all the Student Leaders in my Chapter and would like to thank and appreciate them for doing a fabulous job in facilitating/running the Chapter meetings even though some of us younger kids may be uncooperative.
Also, a very special thanks to Sponsor Gail, Assistant Sponsor Anju and Coach Evelyn! To Sponsor Gail, I am grateful that you step in when the meeting turns chaotic and bring order back to the Chapter. To Assistant Sponsor Anju, I appreciate your encouragement and help with the whole meeting, especially during the break-out sessions. To Coach Evelyn, I am very thankful for your support, help, involvement and enthusiasm in the Chapter Presentation practices. Your expertise in this particular area of acting is well appreciated. :)
I would like to thank not just these three coaches and the five SLs for their help but also all the coaches who were present during the meeting. Simply being there provided moral support for their kids as they memorized and rehearsed their lines over and over again at their individual homes and at Chapter Practices.
